Rosemary is sister of Greeny Purvis Petyarre and niece of the late Emily Kame Kngwarreye, both highly acclaimed indigenous artists. She began her career in the 1980’s alongside other Anmatyerre women artists, making Batik in the Utopia area
Rosemary traveled to Indonesia with fellow women artists to develop her batik making techniques. She now paints her stories and dreamings in acrylics on canvas.
