Andy Steel "Az One"
Graffiti Artist / Aerosol Artist / Graphic Designer (Sydney, NSW)
Originally from the UK, Az One aka Andy Steel has been a graffiti artist for the last 18 years. Now based in Sydney he has traveled the globe painting - from London to New York, Rio to Sydney. Holding a Higher National Diploma in Illustration and design and BA hons in Marketing and Communication, he is as at home designing graphics, websites and corporate logos as he is painting graffiti and aerosol art.

Andy has built a strong reputation in his UK homeland as somebody who paints large 3 dimensional pieces, painted with no final outline, but instead using light and shade so they appear to come out of the wall or canvas. He has appeared regularly in high profile international magazines such as 'Graphotism' and was invited to paint at their international event "sleeping giants" held in 2006.
“My work is highly influenced by the organic but futuristic structure that is present in much of graphic design and contemporary illustration today. This, combined with electronic music continues to influence much of what I do when it comes to graffiti art. As well as traditional graffiti, colour, composition and design always play an important part in shaping the forms I paint”
His clients in this field include Brahma Beer, Miller Beer, Xbox and most recently "Jacksons on George" - Sydney's largest bar situated in the heart of the CBD.
He also works on canvas using spray paint, acrylic, pen, ink, brushes or stencils, producing street art influenced pieces, or abstract contemporary pieces for the home or office. Andy is also available for youth workshops.
Graphic Design
Alongside his mural work, Andy also designs a range of graphics for print and websites, including, but not limited to: posters, fliers, business cards, magazine adverts, logos, web graphics, T shirt designs, sneaker designs, signage, murals, merchandise and any other promotional material or literature.
“I always try to design my graphics with style. I am influenced by current trends in graphic design and have designed for many different industries from retail to bars, nightclubs, record labels, and from internet to fitness services. I've worked on briefs for Stella Artois, Becks, Miller beer, Tiger Beer, Brahma, Xbox and Hewlitt Packard. Usually my market is small businesses - although I am of course always on the look out for larger clients."
Andy works with the Adobe "big 3" of design on an upgraded Macbook Pro, but also uses paint, ink, stencils and whatever else comes to hand.
