About The Artist : Bernd Jansons
I guess I'd call my self a digital artist. I lecture in software interface design at the University of Western Sydney. I have a computer science degree and an arts degree. My art work starts out purely in digital form on the computer and most images remain in that form at this stage. A few pictures have now been printed and framed for exhibition and sale. Some of my work starts out as a photo I've taken sometime. Other pieces start out from sketches and drawings. Occasionally, I have a particular goal in mind, but most times I let the work take me where it wants to go. I try not to be confined to any particular genre or style. Again the image itself will often determine the style as it progresses. I have to admit, however, I am drawn to expressionism and some forms of abstract expressionism. I work with Paint Shop Pro, PhotoImpact, ArtRage and anything else I can find that works. I find the freedom and flexibility offered by digital technologies compelling and irresistable. You can go anywhere your imagination and creativity will take you. And, you can wear your good shirt while you're working!
