About The Artist : Christopher Bennett
Born in Dirranbandi QLD 1968. Pyrotechnician by trade. Chemist for a Father and Artist for Mother is it any wonder Christopher is a Pyrotechnic artist that paints with explosives. Mainly using acrylic on canvas.
Among other things Christopher has worked as a fencing contractor, butcher, salesman, truck driver, swimming pool installer, speedway promoter, welder and also served in the Australian Regular Army. For the past 11 years he has been running a Pyrotechnic company.
Christopher lives at Thagoona (Ipswich) with his wife Kim (Behavioural Scientist), son Jeffery (year 2 student) and Max the Ridgeback (unemployed).
Unlike pyrotechnics that are gone in a few seconds it gives him great pleasure to create everlasting artwork where the paint is “blasted” onto the canvas at 800 meters per second. It has always been his dream to create everlasting Pyrotechnic effects on canvas.
Christopher also enjoys showing people that explosives have many uses apart from weapon s of war and the mining industry. For example explosives are used for everything from cutting and hardening steel to medicines, Pyrotechnic displays and now everlasting artwork.
