About The Artist : Nickie Lewis

Nickie has a love for travel, language, art and life. Of Welsh extraction, Nickie completed a combined French/Russian degree in England, and she is fluent in both languages as well as Norwegian. Currently based in Auckland, Nickie has just launched a language school in Sydney for kids between 3 – 12 years of age. Painting has been a passion of Nickie’s since she was a child; her travels has provided inspiration for a lot of her artworks. “Russian Birches” depicts her 2 years spent in Russia working as an interpreter and her journey on the Trans Siberian railway.
