Jane E Seymour has a background in dance and drama which led to formal training in both disciplines. She has worked in the performing arts for over 20 years and has extensive experience as an actor and drama tutor;and has pursued her career in England & Australia.

Early influences were theatre practitioners such as Brecht, Boal, Grotowski, Peter Hall, French Film makers of the 60's&70's and Russian ballet. Along the way, Shakespeare and classical acting inspired further investigation into performance studies and practice. Musical theatre & American films can be added as areas of special interest.

Her qualifications include an MA & BA in Theatre & Film (UNSW), Advanced Certificate in Theatre Skills (ARTTS Inter.,UK), Classical Acting Certificate (BADA,UK) & Workplace Trainer Certfication (NSW VETAB). Ongoing professional training includes The National Theatre (UK), School of Mask (UK), Australian International Workshop Festival (Melb.), Practical Aesthetics (Syd.) & Industry Heavyweight Film& TV Masterclasses (Syd).

Currently, Jane is drama tutor for Eastern Suburbs Community College, conducts workshops, private coaching and is Director of Resource Performance Workshops. She pursues an active performing career & ongoing professional development.

Jane has written 2 one-woman shows; the first of which was performed in England in 1996. Her second show, "Significant Others...Shakespeare's Women", premiered in Sydney 2000 and toured Melbourne 2001 and Adelaide Fringe Festival 2002.The show returned to Sydney in 2003 playing at the PACT Theatre.

Her recent work includes :'Queen Lere', Cut Theatre 2004; SHORT&SWEET, Newtown Theatre, 2004/03; The Road To...(short film 2003); Ripples (short film 2003); Estella (short film 2002); VW Car commercial 2004.
