O.Jones
Actor,
Director,Playwright (Manly, NSW)
Patricia
O.Jones trained at the Ensemble Theatre in Kirribilli for five years,
becoming an actress/director and eventually a playwright. She was trained
in the Stanislavsky "method" style of acting but her studies
also incorporated traditional acting training.
She
has worked for director and teacher Brian Siron, who had trained with
Stella Adler in New York, in technical colleges and elsewhere as an
acting teacher. In
addition to her extensive acting and directing background, Patricia
is also a performance poet and holds a diploma in fine arts from Seaforth
TAFE.
Currently,
Patricia is working on a project writing theatre pieces for young people
which encompass developmental problems young people experience as a
form of "edu-tainment" for youth.
Influenced
by Tennessee Williams, her plays include "The Last Painting of
Toulouse Lautrec", performed at the Tap Gallery in Surrey Hills,
"I wanna dance with Fred Astaire" - chosen as one of five
best Australian scripts in 1992 by Griffin Theatre, "The heart
of Frankenstein" performed at the Tap Gallery and also in a well-reviewed
Manly production.
Patricia
wishes to teach acting within the Manly area and is keen to attract
students. To this end she would like to contact actors and those wishing
to take advantage of her extensive training and experience and other
teachers in the area to join for nights of teaching in Manly.
