Brett has completed a Film & Television course and
studied animation for 4 years, gaining a Diploma
of Visual Arts: Animation and Diploma of Freelance Cartooning &
Illustration. He has produced 4 animated films, and also drew a series
of comic strips advertising Radio station 4zZz 102.1FM in QLD.
He enjoys drawing 2D cartoon animation, especially from
the US and Japan. Influences include The Powerpuff Girls (Craig McCracken),
Dexter's Laboratory (Genndy Tartakovsky), The Simpsons (Matt Groening),
Family Guy (Seth MacFarlane), Beavis and Butt-Head (Mike Judge), Daria,
The Ren & Stimpy Show (John Kricfalusi), Freakazoid, The Iron Giant
(Brad Bird), Spirited Away (Hayao Miyazaki), Princess Mononoke (Hayao
Miyazaki), Porco Rosso (Hayao Miyazaki), and many more.
Brett also performs keyboard in three
bands; Headkase (quirky
industrial / techno flavoured circus-metal), Marlinchen (morbid and
dreamy folk / funeral music), and Silent Partners (experimental noise
art).
