Brett Hansen
Animator & Cartoonist (The Gap, QLD)

Brett has completed a Certificate III in Film & Television, and studied animation for 4 years, gaining a Diploma of Visual Arts: Animation and Diploma of Freelance Cartooning & Illustration. He has produced 4 animated films (which have screened at several art and film exhibitions including 2High and Brisbane International Animation Festival), and draws cartoon illustrations for technical and general print media. Some of his clients have included Education Queensland, Lifeline, Leukaemia Foundation, Commerce Queensland and 4zZz radio station.

He prefers traditional cartoon style animation, with influences including The Powerpuff Girls (Craig McCracken), Dexter's Laboratory (Genndy Tartakovsky), The Simpsons (Matt Groening), Family Guy (Seth MacFarlane), Beavis and Butt-Head (Mike Judge), The Ren & Stimpy Show (John Kricfalusi), Freakazoid (Bruce Timm/Paul Dini), Daria (Glenn Eichler/Susie Lewis Lynn), The Iron Giant (Brad Bird), and Spirited Away (Hayao Miyazaki).

Brett also performs keyboard in two bands; Headkase (a theatrical and quirky circus-metal fusion band), and Silent Partners (an improvised, avant-garde and experimental orchestra).
