Nathan Jones
Animator (Northern Beaches, Sydney)

Nathan is a 24 year old designer, illustrator and animator based on the northern beaches in Sydney. He has a strong interest in technology, specifically 3D modeling and animation. The idea of science and art as a fused creation is something that has him hooked and he enjoys creating works using Maya and Mel.

However, Nathan considers drawing to be at the heart of art and is very concerned with pushing himself to dramatically improve his use of light, perspective and visual observation. He is dedicated to producing work in a range of areas that showcases his capabilities, and with art playing such a big part in his life, nothing has weakened his interest and nothing ever will!!

Since completing a degree in Visual Communications at Newcastle University, Nathan has spent a lot of time backpacking around Europe, China and a little of Australia. Nathan's main goal over the next few years is to gain work in the 3D industry, specifically with the use of Maya.

In 2001 he was short listed for Walt Disney Animation Australia, as well as being short listed for Art Express in 1997. Currently Nathan is hard at work learning Mel, playing with Maya cloth and any new toys available, re-texturing many of the films scenes for his piece called 'Menagerie', re-evaluating the films story with the creation a new storyboard together with producing a few of the scenes that will end up in the film and drawing, drawing, drawing!!
