Janine
Ayres
Dancer & Aerial Artist (Rivett,
ACT)
Janine studied dance at the Victorian
College of the Arts, obtaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Choreography
in 2003. She holds a teaching Certificate in Classical Ballet (Distinction)
with the Royal Academy of Dance and a Fitness leaders Certificate, University
of Canberra. She is also a ticketed Rigger and Scaffolder.
Janine has been performing and choreographing professionaly
since 1996, and in 1999 her interest in aerial applications grew to
include Slings and Harness work.
Janine has performed with Elizabeth Cameron Dalman, The
Australian Choreographic Centre, Stopera, Canberra Dance Theatre, Direct
Current Dance Collective, Louise Taube, Shadow House Pits, Splinters
Theatre of Spectacle and C.I.A.
She has had numerous residencies at the Australian Choreographic
Centre, and in 2003 received the David Branson memorial award for resident
artist.
Through the support of Arts ACT, The Street Theatre and
The Australian Choreographic Centre Janine has produced many full length
main stage aerial / dance theatre.
