Zoe
Braithwaite
Fire Artist (Sydney, NSW)
Zoe
is an accomplished fire and stilt performing artist, having performed
in hundreds of festivals and nightclubs, corporate events and sports
events. In 2000 she performed in both the opening and closing ceremony
of the Sydney Olympics, and worked as co-director with Firefly Entertainments
in Sydney from 2000 to 2002.
Zoe
has studied dance and holds a Dance Diploma from Northern Rivers Conservatorium
in Lismore Australia, along with a 1st year of Bachelor of Naturopathy.
She has also studied reiki and shiatsu and completed a Certificate in
the Anatomy and Physiology of Yoga in 2001.
Zoe's
skills range from stilt performing, fire dancing, fire breathing, stilts
with fire performance, character acting, costume design and creation,
face and body painter, mime artist and life drawing model. She is also
trained in capeoria, acrobalance, contact improvisation, butoh and pilates.
Zoe's
repertoire includes the production of UV, fire and stilt stage shows,
21 separate stilt character roving performances, 5 fire act concepts,
7 UV act concepts and numerous kids circus skills. Between 1997 and
1999 Zoe traveled with performing group Invisible Surgery, staging fire
acts at night clubs and festivals in London, Hungary and Ibiza.
She also facilitates
childrens workshops with entertainment troupe Kidztrix, and as part
of the 2003 Manly Arts Festival will, Zoe will be peforming with Illuminati
2003 and hosting a basic circus skills workshop for children.
