Born in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Anita developed a love
for paint and brush very early in her life. It was her passion for art
and craft and her keen hobby in reading cartoons, comic and story books
that shaped her early love for the arts.
She enrolled in Malaysian Institute of Art to study Textile
and Fashion design from 1989 - 1991. In the art institute, she experimented
with various artistic mediums and subjects such as printmaking, drawing
and painting, ceramics, sculpture, textile printing, fashion design
& pattern drafting and illustrations.
From 1994 - 1996, Anita travelled extensively throughout
Europe and South East Asia, obtaining valuable experience in different
design forms. She returned home in 1997 and lectured in Malaysian Institute
of Art, training many budding artists and designers who are well known
today in the local industry.
Anita has been based in Sydney Australia since 2000,
and is interested in connecting with other textile artists, fashion
illustrators and painters.
