Penny Lovelock
Painter & Illustrator (Conjola Park, NSW)
I studied printmaking at Leeds Metropolitan University in England. I was inspired by lino cuts and went on to London to continue into the world of illustration. Through my agent I had several work commissioned in the Radio Times, Girl Guides, Womens Weekly and various book publishers.
In 1989 I left the UK to travel and settled in Sydney, Australia. Since then I have had works published in over 30 books from prominant publishers, worked on various commissions and had several exhibitions. I also taught ceramics for a number of years. Since moving to the south coast of NSW I have been painting landscapes and small illustrative pieces and am now getting back into illustration work again, as well as working on a new exhibition.
My travelling experiences in India and Nepal as well as bush walking have really inspired my work to date.
My aim is to illustrate a childrens book and continue to build my illustration work again. People who I have painted commissions for often say they feel like they can loose themselves in my paintings, and to me that is all I could ask for.
I am of course available for commissions and illustration works.
