Vivianne
Hazenveld
Mixed Media
(Northern Beaches,
NSW)
Born
in 1973 in Holland, Vivianne migrated to Australia in 1982. She went
on to study Design, Visual Art Practice Business Skills and completed
her Associate Diploma in Fine Arts with Distinction in 1995. She has
created work in a variety of styles using charcoal, oils, acrylics and
pastels. She has also made sculptures in clay, bronze and welded steel
and artists bookworks.
Vivianne's
latest pieces, though they can be hung on a wall, are quite sculptural:
utilising objects that project from the base surface. They include luscious
textures, sensual forms and underlying themes of fertility. The rich
earthly colours she uses combine with her style to echo nature in an
abstract way. To create these works, Vivianne uses anything she can
get her hands on! Experimenting with materials not normally associated
with creating art, various objects find their way into her work. These
include bones, muslin, leaves, seedpods and media such as wax, shoe
polish and shellac. The pieces work as abstracts from a distance, with
a more intimate world revealed upon closer viewing.
Vivianne
has exhibited throughout NSW including Manly Art Gallery and Museum,
Art Focus Gallery, Lavender Bay Gallery, Casula Powerhouse and the Griffith
and Orange Regional Galleries. Vivianne is interested in connecting
with others whose work compliments her own earthy pieces. She welcomes
commissions.
