Armitage
Singer/Songwriter
(Sydney, NSW)
Keith
Armitage is a talented original songwriter and performer, having performed
around Australia and overseas for many years. Growing
up listening to artists such as Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens and Neil Young,
songwriting became Keiths greatest passion.
Studying
to learn more about the craft of songwriting, Keith attended seminars
and workshops, picking up five songwriting awards along the way. One
of these songs Holden HT, a nostalgic tribute to his favourite
car, won the Australian Songwriters Association award for best novelty
song of 1993. He has also studied acting and television presenting;
guest appearing in Water Rats, and countless commercials.
The last ten years has also seen Keith in high demand as a solo performer
building a large following playing in the Snowy Mountains resorts, at
the Darwin Casino, on the cruise ship Fairstar and nearly every room
in Sydney that housed a beer tap.
Keiths
love of songwriting has also lead him to begin organising and hosting"Songwriters
Live" night at The Old Manly Boatshed in Manly and The Hotel Delany
in Newcastle which showcases some of Sydneys top songwriters including
Louise Perryman, Steve Balbi (ex-Noiseworks), Jackie Bristow, Amanda
Easton and Maz to name a few.
After
two years of hard work, being true to himself and writing from the heart,
Keith has produced a beautifully written album, The Coast Road.
