Festinger
Fretless
Bass, Keys/Piano (Sydney, NSW)
Robert
" Paster Bob's" career began at the age of 4 playing piano
"by ear". Eventually, with extensive instruction he began
to using his fingers like the other kids and a prodigious talent was
unleashed!
Majorly
influenced by the contemporary music of the day, Rob's first serious
band 'DUI' (Dancing Under the Influence) were conceived as a 3 piece
then rapidly mushroomed into a 12 piece and gigged around the northern
beaches and Sydney Harbour in late 1980's. Poached by another band led
by singer/songwriter Terry Meany/Halliday of "Geeza" fame,
they went under various names including 'The Valkyries' and 'The House
Rockers' and built up a substantial repertoire of original and cover
tunes, playing regularly at the 'Cadillac Cafe' in Manly.
These
days the 'Rabbi of Rock' is rarely without a daily dose of his beloved
music and functions equally well in a role as Music Director, Arranger,
Musician or just 'jammin' with the guys', whether its on his 5 string
or fretless bass, piano or acoustic guitar. Rob is currently playing
the circuit with the talented 'Ashley Allan Band'.
