Tracey
Wright
Singer
& Songwriter (Sydney, NSW)
Every
once in a while an artist comes along who speaks through their music,
straight from the heart. Tracey Wright is one such artist.
This
folk / bluegrass guitar / singer / songwriter has taken the many situations
of her childhood and adulthood and applied them to her songs, which
have been described as "beautiful, haunting stuff"- Revolver,
1998. Her shows leave a deep impression on the minds of audiences, who
range from young to old.
With
her footdrum and tiny takamine and a sound that is a blend of bluegrass
and folk, she is known to produce a sound akin to Tracy Chapman and
Joni Mitchell yet one that is distinctly her own. She has played from
the South Coast to Sydney to the North Coast at such venues as: The
Oxford Tavern, Wollongong; Faces On Crown, Wollongong; The Brass Monkey,
Cronulla; Bacchus Café, Cronulla; AIDS Prevention Day, Brighton; The
Hopetoun Hotel, Surry Hills; The Excelsior, Surry Hills; Mr Goodbar,
Oxford St; Brendan Behan Hotel, Sydney; Georgio Café, Surry Hills;
The Iguana Bar, Kingscross; Cat & Fiddle, Balmain; The Commercial
Hotel, Balmain; The 3 Weeds, Rozelle; The Belrose Hotel, Belrose; Tee
Pee Café, Mullumbimby; Lou Lous Café, Mullumumbimby.
Join her when she comes to a town near you to share
in her poignant moving stories, sensitivity and bluesy style that will
stay with you for a while to come.
