I am inspired by the natural world and I use landscape as a metaphor for spirtual space. I feel a powerful connection between my own inner landscape and that which nature has created. Constant themes and expressive colour are my visual language, working with symbolic motifs to describe different emotional states. I immerse myself in a struggle with each piece. Building up layers of paint and reworking the surface to balance colour and composition. I explore the complexity and depth of an emotion or experience until each piece is resolved.'
