To express myself, in its many creative forms, makes my soul dance.

In the mid nineties I had the opportunity to more formerly explore and experiement within the realm of Visual Arts.  It is here that I began my journey as a Visual Artist and teacher / facilitator.

I draw my inspiration from the inner and outer worlds of existance.  Many of my art works in their final form are intuitive, symbolic and expressive in nature.  The exploration of the inner world is very much at an unconsious level.  Through the layers of colour and texture the unconscious begins to express itself.

My inspirtion may be drawn, at one level. from dreams, my home, local streetscapes or the landscape through the window and beyond.

I learnt very quickly that the most powerful form of expression for me was to keep the imagery to a minimum. Through the combination of imagery, colour, the use of light and dark and texture the message became much clearer and stronger.

The art works began to change in 2004.  The darkness of the earlier pices began to lift.

Between 2004 and 2007 I began to work much smaller.  This was originally inspired by a local, annual 9 x 5 group exhibition in Warrnadyte, Melbourne. Mixed media pieces began to take on a different form and develop into more installation forms than past works.  Experimenting across different disciplines was a fantastic way of rejuventating myself as an artist.

Working on small pieces allowed for even more spontaneity, encouraging experimentation and allowing me to tease out ideas at a faster pace.

In 2008 I moved to the Sunshine Coast.  A place that has been a second home to me for many, many years.  It was here that some of my earlier pieces were drawn from, in a sense. 

During the last ten months a small number of art works have been created but this time they have taken on another form, moving away from the darkness of the earlier pieces.
