Guy
Hawson
Visual Artist (Northern
Beaches, Sydney NSW)
Educated
at the University of New South Wales' College of Fine Arts, Guy graduated
with a Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts) in 1984. Between
1984 and 1990 he attended and then taught life drawing at the Paddington
Art School in Sydney, a school renowned for its emphasis on expression
in drawing.
In
1990 he settled in London and worked on his first commissioned mural
- a large baroque ceiling and wall mural in a 17th century Georgian
mansion just outside of London. The experience encouraged Guy to pursue
similar work upon returning to Australia. He has since worked as a freelance
artist in the commercial areas of murals, scenic art, fine art reproductions
and private commissions.
Guy's
work appears in corporate head offices, hotels, casinos, restaurants,
hospitals, museums, private homes and advertising agencies in Sydney,
Brisbane, Melbourne, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Korea and Bali.
He
has also been shown in a number of group and solo exhibitions in Sydney,
including the Elizabeth Street Gallery in 1987, Bookoccino in 1993,
the Albion Street Gallery in 1994 and 1995, Istral Gallery in 1995 and
the Arthouse in 2001 and 2003.
Guy
has recently completed a series of paintings of the Anzac marchers and
wishes to make contact with art lovers who wish to commission work,
theatre groups looking for set painters and galleries who might wish
to exhibit his work.
