Guy Porter
Painter (Rozelle, NSW)
Guy was born in the UK in 1977, moved to Singapore in 1986 and lived there for 15 years. He studied Fine Art (Painting) at Chelsea College of Art, London 1995-1996 and at Lasalle College of the Arts, Singapore with BA (Fine Art), and holds a distinction awarded by the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in 1999.
"My recent work is quintessentially post-modern in that it shamelessly appropriates and synthesizes various eclectic influences. I describe it as "Where's Wally?" meets Jackson Pollock meets Tibetan Tangka painting."
Themes centre around the relationship between humans and animals and the seemingly paradoxical coexistence of violence and beauty in nature.
Guy is currently living and painting in Sydney and seeking gallery representation locally. Commissions welcome.
