Julie Doyle
Painter / Illustrator (Cammeray NSW)

Julie made a conscious decision at a young age to develop her own style that is the culmination of her own influences and interpretation of the world around her. It was not until she was satisfied with her own technique that she took on tertiary studies, studying a bachelor of fine arts degree. Whilst painting is now her main passion, Julie is also a keen and capable illustrator, cartoonist and pavement artist. Julie uses traditional artistic practices to reflect modern society. 

Julie's work is heavily influenced by Pop culture and modern art history. Whilst facets of her work pay homage to art movements of the past she re-interprets them into a contemporary context. Julie's most recent work is concerned with bluring the boundaries between what is considered high brow and low brow art, creating work that sits somewhere inbetween street art, folk art and high art, essentially creating something "else". Julie is passionate about the idea that art is an effective form of communication and endevours to create work that is accessible to all.
