Singleton Keller Visual Artist
(Sydney, NSW) Kay is a
Sydney based artist and has been studying and painting since the early 60's. A
student of the National Art School and Sydney University, she gained a Diploma
in Fine Arts in 1992. Her background includes painting, print-making, photography
and writing. The study of medieval history at university strengthened
her already strong interest in medieval and french art. She has exhibited in several
exhibitions over the years, and was a finalist in the 2000 Blake prize for Religious
Art. More recently, Kay has participated in solo exhibitions at Michael Nagy Fine
Art in Sydney for the past 2 years.
A visit to France in
2001 took Kay to Bayeux, and a first sight of the tapestry, inspired a new body
of work and encouraged her back to painting.
