Marty Reynolds

Marty Reynolds was born in Auckland, New Zealand in 1952. He lived and worked in New Zealand, Egypt, Papua New Guinea and Raoul Island, before deciding that he wanted to share his experience and skills, and this led to Marty completing his teaching qualifications in 2003. After enjoying a successful and satisfying teaching career, Marty has taken some time out to follow his passion for art and to travel extensively throughout outback Australia, savouring the diverse and wonderful landscapes that have inspired his current work.

Marty works in oils to capture the vibrant colours of the Australian outback. He blends the simple but powerful elements of sky, earth and sea with some of the typical features of the outback to create bold scenes that encapsulate the sometimes harsh and unforgiving, yet truly beautiful landscape.  These themes will evoke familiar memories for those like Marty who have been brave enough to venture off the beaten track and see the "real Australia".
