Micha
Nussinov Painter,
Filmmaker & Digital Artist (Paddington, NSW) Micha
is a multi-disciplined artist with skills in painting, mixed media, sculpture,
photography and filmmaking. He has a wide range of experience in various media,
and switchs his creative outputs from one skill to another. He considers himself
lucky to be able to dedicate time and resources in creating artworks. Releasing
a particular expression, sketching impressions, depicting pigmented worlds with
texture and movements, capturing a moment as a photo image, improvising a piece
of music, recording and laying moving images. He
studied film technique at the London Film School 1969 -71, and this foundation
has enabled him to work as both a Cinematographer and Director. Micha's
creative references are inspired from everyday life and ways of manipulating or
reading that reality. "For example, growing alfalfa seeds nourish the body,
but having photographed them on a macro level gave me a new perspective, and a
means of visual interpreting and exploring (refer short film Sprouts).
The 2 minutes video explores the process of transformation from reality to fantasy."
As an artist who has acquired his artistic and
musical skills mainly by practice, Micha sees his references as emotive and subliminal.
Musically he weaves through Middle Eastern and European sounds, but of course
influenced from the great classical masters like Bach, Beethoven, Mozart and from
contemporary music like Pink Floyd, Moody Blues, and East meets West. In art he
admires Van Goghs thick layering of paints, Salvador Dalis fantasy,
Rembrandts precision and Goyas dark worlds. Micha is interested
in connecting with people who are involved in bringing all form of expressions
into the public.
