Nathaniel Eckstrom
Painter & Illustrator (Cammeray, NSW)

Nathaniel was born in Sydney, Australia in 1973. After completing his diploma in graphic arts, he set out on a journey trading art across the globe.

Acquiring a broad range of techniques, he chooses to work mainly in oil and acrylic. His paintings have been shown in a several group exhibitions in Sydney including the National Art School Charity exhibition. Nathaniel’s illustrations have also appeared in various publications, notably Safety Solutions magazine and B & T weekly.

His subjects are of a diverse nature and often depict emotions and relationships around him. Themes can vary from the dark and macabre to richly euphoric.

His passion for painting is a mystery as he comes from an ancestry of predominantly Vikings and fishermen. He has collectors as far away as Ireland - perhaps because of his Viking heritage in Sweden. Vikings traded at Irish markets in Dublin and became accustomed to the Viking presence. In some cases they became allies and also married each other. This might also explain why he married an Irish girl.
