Russell Danby
Mural Artist (Melbourne, VIC)

Russell has been an artist since the 1970's, painting and exhibiting his work. He originally attended Caulfield Institute (now Monash) to do Fine Art -Painting. In the next two decades, he travelled extensively and exhibited overseas.

In the past 8 years, Russell has worked full-time as Muralmaker, painting both private and community murals. He has completed many murals with participants from schools, hospitals, day programs, and community groups. He also creates many private garden and living space murals. Each mural is individually designed with a full colour illustration before commencement.

Russell has exhibited in many Melbourne galleries and has completed an exhibition of his paintings in London and Penang, Malaysia while travelling. His murals are throughout Melbourne in community areas as well as many private gardens.

He has won awards for his community murals with Banyule Council and has completed murals for other local bodies, which include Knox, Maroondah, City of Yarra and Maribyrnong C.C.

"Each work or project is a challenge and I am always amazed how much you can learn from the process of creating someting real from a blank canvas or wall".
