Ruth Cadioli
Painter (Newtown, QLD)
Ruth Cadioli is an emerging artist who can't make up her mind. After attempting and failing two arts related TAFE diplomas she was left feeling a little misguided and decided that it was time for her to go out alone into the world. At 21 years of age she is now determined to remain a self taught artist.
Inspirations for her art have so far included: pop culture and pop art, graphic design, melting objects, nature, octopus headed ladies, eras like the 50's 60's and 70's and the apocalypse as described in the book of Revelation.
"I envy what some graphic designers are able to do. Somehow their work is impossibly gratifying in a visual sense. In the same way I strive to attain what they are able to do but aim to do it using traditional drawing mediums as opposed to using a printer!"
Ruth loves colour and unusual colour combinations, a sense of drama and poignant imagery. She welcomes gallery enquiries and private commissions.
