Stephenie
Bester
Painter (Cromer
Heights, NSW)
Having been fortunate enough to have
travelled extensively, Stephenie's work is influenced
by not only the colours, but also by the mood of a
number of nations. This brings a worldly aspect to
her work, travel and its influences are evident in
the varied themes running through her paintings.
Her style is generally of a serene
nature. However, the other side of Stephenie's work
is certainly not left unexplored as can be seen in
her wide range of styles.
Stephenie was born and raised in
country New South Wales and has lived for many years
on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. The delicate mix
of country and city is reflected in the blend of earthy
and Australian colours.
Artists Statement:
"My love of colour and creativity
has taken centre stage. When I’m painting, time
disappears and I’m in a space within time itself.
The wonderful feeling of creativity, to watch a canvas
come alive, even the fight with the canvas itself
(to quote Brett Whitely “art is the art of difficult
pleasure”) makes it incredibly rewarding. A
ombination of these things and an ongoing respect
for my Mentors is immensely satisfying for me.”
