Photography is the medium chosen by Katrina to express
her artistic vision. She works in 35mm photography, using colour transparency
and black and white print film.
One of her prefered mediums is polaroid transfers,
these are created by projecting a 35mm transparency onto polaroid film.
The negative of the polaroid is then pressed onto damp watercolour paper.
The resulting image is unique, due to the random effects of the emulsion.
This image is then printed onto canvas, revealing to the viewer a non
traditional photographic image.
By focusing on images in nature, wildlife
and plants, Katrina reveals to her audience her personal artistic view
of the world. Katrina is also drawn to landscapes, particularly in her
black and white work.
