David Reiter
Poet, Writer & Scriptwriter (Brisbane, QLD)
Dr David Reiter is an award-winning poet and writer of
fiction, scripts and multimedia.
He has published 12 books to date, primarily poetry, and
has won or been commended in some major national awards, including Winner
- Queensland Premier's Poetry Award, 1989, Highly Commended - Queensland
Premier's Poetry Award 1994, and Runner-up - South Australia Premier's
Award, 1998, for Hemingway in Spain and Selected Poems (IP, 1997). In
2001 David was awarded Runner-up - Steele Rudd Award for Short Fiction
for his publication Triangles (IP, 2001).
Recently David has been focussing on script writing and
visual media. As Director of Interactive Publications Pty Ltd, a Brisbane-based
print and digital publishing house, he has extensive experience in cover
designs, Photoshop work and interactive software.
David has acted as a consultant for various corporate
and literary organisations and led workshops on writing and digital
composition from beginning to master class level. His publications can

David holds a PhD in Creative Writing and is interested
in cross-discipline collaborations with artists in music, visual and
