Casey
Herman
Metal Sculpture (Melbourne,
VIC)
A
former pilot, Casey is interested in metal "torture" (ie sculpture)
and digital image "abuse" (ie digital art). His interest in
metal sculpture started with creating a wrought iron gate, and evolved
into twisting heated iron into all kinds of creative sculptures. Works
range from iron gates, twisted picture frames to bent pot plant holders
and candlestick holders.
Created
in mild steel, his work is sandblasted, then either powder-coated, painted
in hammered-metal effect paint, or plated in nickel, chrome or bronze.
He
is currently completing the building of a new home, which includes a
dedicated studio, office and workshop, after which he he intends to
concentrate on sculptures incorporating wood, rock and steel, and is
currently learning about kilnforming glass. He is also involved in digital
imagery and creative writing.
Casey's
web site 'Twisted Irony' features examples of his "digital image
abuse" (ie: digital art) and "metal torture" (ie: sculpture)
under the trademarks "Bizarrte" and "Twisted Irony",
and showcases artwork and sculpture available for sale.
