Jane Hanson
Sculptor (Mittagong, NSW)

Jane graduated with first class honours in Sculpture from the Canberra School of Art in 1997. She is interested in the siting of works in 'the landscape' and much of her work reflects this interest. She studied landscape architecture at Canberra University as part of her visual arts degree to give her a greater understanding of siting public and outdoor artworks. Jane works as a sculptor and Visual Arts teacher in the Southern Highlands of NSW.

Artist Statement:
"I am always challenged by how to create and integrate a sculptural work in the 'right' environment.My objective is to create a piece that sings with harmony in its final resting place yet does not overpower the natural site."
