Sandie Wright
Sculptor, Mosaics Artist (Camberwell, VIC)

I am a Melbourne based artist who is inspired by travel and the local environment, my practice reflects what’s happening in the world today.

Fun and funky sculptural mosaics with narrative in silhouette, explore human relationships. Organic forms develop from a wide variety of materials; ceramic, cast glass, copper, bronze, and wire are some of my favorites.

My latest investigation into shells has led to a body of work which shows the delicate texture, patterning and beauty of these forms. Glass is used for memory, copper is used for decay and the drawings simply aim to celebrate nature’s diversity. Shown at the Contemporary Sculptors Association, Abbotsford. 2010. Group Show “THREE”.

My tertiary studies include a Diploma of Visual Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts at Monash University. Recently, I have been a finalist in the Yering Station and Toorak Sculpture Shows. I have experience in teaching sculptural mosaic school workshops, and am available for private commissions.
