Kimba
Scorpecci
Vocalist (Melbourne, VIC)
A diva of swing and sass...An empress of song and cabaret...Kimba
Scorpecci graduated from the VIctorian College of the Arts in 2002 with
a Bachelor of Creative Arts, majoring in theatre. Since that time she
has been busy performing jazz, cabaret, theatre. all with her trademark
wit and banter.
As well as performing up to 6 nights a week at Melbourne's
finest jazz and soul venues, Kimba has performed in a number of theatre
shows, including her own one woman show 'Journeys of a Gender Nomad'.
She has recently premiered her cabaret show based on the life of Billie
Holiday entitled 'Billie and Me' to much acclaim. Kimba has performed
at The Famous Speigeltent and directed her own show at the 1999 Melbourne
International Festival.
Kimba's rich tone suits jazz ballads beautifully,
but is versatile enough for her to sing R&B, soul and popular music.
She is a quintessential performer with a special talent to draw an audience
into the emotion of a ballad, or get them giggling and shakin' on the
dance floor. Having led and managed numerous bands over the past 5 years,
her professionalism, organisation and communication are second to none.
Kimba currently performs with Melbourne jazz/funk band
The Decibels. She is interested in connecting with other musicians,
writers, theatre practitioners, and mc's
