Ross
Renwick describes himself a writer first, and designer second. His design
work has been published extensively around the world, and in the October
1998 issue of the Australian industry magazine Adnews he was elected
as one of the 12 legends of Australian design out of a design population
of about 15,000.
Renwick
established Billy Blue Magazine in 1977, publishing colloquial Australian
writing. Professor Richard Deutch, in his book The Best of Billy Blue,
described him as having "a flat out genius for graphic design."
In
1997 Ross wrote and designed six cookbooks for the Australian market,
with titles like: The Mafia Just Moved In Next Door and They're Dropping
By for Dinner Cookbook, and How to Become a Dinner Party Legend and
Avoid Crippling Psychological Damage. They were published in Australia
in 1998, and in the UK and USA by Lagoon Books (London and Boston) in
February 2000.
He
has also had short stories published in four languages and six countries
He has won in excess of 300 national and international awards for writing
design, publishing, advertising, logo design,branding, poster design
and illustration.
In
2003 he wrote a book of short stories called the Five O¹Clock Shark
and designed a range of limited edition prints.
