John Bartlett presents his latest exhibition 'The
Organ Factory Suite' at Scott Livesey Galleries in Armadale VIC,
from 24 May to 14 June 2006.
Nature has many tools in it's "toolkit",
and one of them is the "spiral", fundamental to existence.
Something else now fundmental is the "computer" that
John Bartlett uses to generate images to develop as drawings
and finally paint with
oils and acrylics.
During 2004 John used the mouse as a pencil to
draw a "spiral" and developed that drawing to become "Trinity",
a work that, with variations, he advanced to be part of the suite "The
Organ Factory Suite", his latest exhibition.
The Trinity image with variations
such as "Lattice Meander" are an ongoing project. The
other works also emanate from the computer in "John's" toolkit
... the entire suite of works are the sum total of the "Random", "Discipline" and "Spiritual".
