Sue & Bob Dennis present a unique
view of one isolated area, north-west Queensland, in the Spinifex
and
Snappy
Gums
exhibition. Stunning
photographs, surface design techniques, solid craftsmanship and
the narrative element form an exhibition, which brings a little
of the country to the city in this, the year of the Outback.
Bob Dennis, still working as a
geologist, has rekindled his love of photography and complements
Sue's art quilts with images
of man’s involvement with the landscape through mining,
aerial shots, textures, flora and fauna. The mining industry,
particularly the copper fields of early last century feature
prominently in both of
their works.
