In the maelstrom of big city life we all come to seek our own paths to enlightenment. Enter the dark dream world of Sydney artist Beric Henderson, and view his surrealistic visions on show at the Wallspace Gallery in Surry Hills from 9th September. The exhibition features 21 unique paintings in expressionist and realistic style that depict man’s struggle against unseen forces in his search for illumination and understanding.
This is Beric Henderson’s third solo exhibition. The paintings on show are rich in detail, and use shadow and silhouette to create atmospheric and thought-provoking scenes. The pictures range from the introspective to the bizarre, including hypnotic images of figures falling from lighthouses, dark forests and lost souls combing the city streets in search of truths never quite revealed. A modern day exploration of the Kafka landscape.
The exhibition is free to enter and works are for sale.
