the artRoom Upstairs : Official Launch of New Gallery on Manly Corso
The
artRoom Upstairs is the new gallery space and home of artsConnect on Sydney's
northern beaches. Located on Manly Corso just 50 feet from the sand and surf,
the artRoom Upstairs is a meeting place for artists to network, share creative
ideas and promote & sell their work to art lovers. The
official launch for the artRoom Upstairs is Saturday 16 October between 6pm to
8pm. The opening night is set to be a rich multicultural experience with work
by artists from Australia, Fillipines, France, Hungary, Iraq, New Zealand, Netherlands,
Germany and USA. Works on display include a mix of ancient Babylonian symbolism,
socio-political cartoons, plein air landscapes, abstract geometric designs and
interpretative black & white photography. All artists whose works are on show
will be present on the night to meet and talk about their influences and aspirations. The
launch night will also feature special guest TC Wright performing acoustic tracks
from her upcoming EP 'Eccentric Mess'. TC Wright is a fantastic singer/songwriter
who is starting to make an impression on the Australian music industry, and is
billed to perform at the Byron Bay Blues Festival in 2005. The
exhibition will run at the artRoom Upstairs from 16 October to 16 November 2004.

party for the artRoom Upstairs launch will be held at Stage One, The Steyne Hotel.
