Local percussionist and Afro drum instructor Mike
Almond formed the Feel Rhythm Band to perform rhythms in the Afro/Latin
genre.
The music performed by the band is centred upon rhythms
born in Africa, which found their way to Cuba and Latin America over
the past few hundred years. The rhythms provide an earthy yet groovy
and highly danceable atmosphere, and we look forward to creating that
atmosphere with you at your next function!
The band consists of students from Mike's intermediate
drum class, with guest artists regularly invited to add their creativity
to the mix. Currently, the melodic and rhythmic talents of Emanuel Lieberfreund
add a unique style to the sound. The music is a fusion of vibrant African
and Latin rhythms, with the audience often taking part in the performance!
