The Fifth House

The Fifth House was formed in 2002 by a group of experienced singers who have been working in Sydney and around Australia for 15 years. The members of the group are (soprano) Samantha Fiddes, (Altos) Sara Browne and Linda Knight, (tenor) Gary Smith and (bass) Frank Zeichner.

In 2004 The Fifth House released their first CD called 'Presents from the Fifth House'. It contains songs in a style developed by the group which features their unique combination of voices and arrangements of popular, jazz and world music styles with some hand held percussion and some acoustic accompanying instrumentation. These days the group relies exclusively on vocal and body percussion to accentuate the rhythmic elements. They are now strictly a cappella.

The Fifth House has performed at notable Sydney venues such as The Basement and The Vanguard and as guests for community concerts in and around Sydney as well as private engagements.

They are interested in connecting with other a cappella groups, folk groups and musicians who feature acoustic performances at cabaret and festival venues.
