The
Big Daddys
Sydney
The
Big Daddys have played sellout shows from Palm Beach in Sydney to Shanghai
in China. The brainchild of Paul Christie, (Mondo Rock, The Party Boys)
the band understands the audience it plays to and more specifically,
what that audience wants in terms of entertainment and repertoire.
The
band exclusively targets the 35 to 55+ age demographic and generally
promotes its own shows, which works remarkably well. These shows comprise
two 'sets' of 1 hour and 1.5 hours.
In
2002 The Big Daddys augmented the line up with the very gifted keyboard
player & singer, Rick Melick. The band also features regular guests
that have included ~ Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter from Steely Dan & The Doobie
Brothers, Jon Stevens, Ross Wilson, Angry Anderson, Ian Moss, Joe Camilleri
and Shauna Jensen.
The
Big Daddys are: Kevin Borich, Australia's #1 rock and blues guitarist,
Paul Christie, ex Mondo Rock and still a member of The Party Boys, Richard
Harvey, ex Divinyls and one of the best drummers ever to come out of
Australia, and John Spence, ex Fargone Beauties.
Guest
keyboard player Rick Melick also performs regularly with The Big Daddys.
Rick is a session keyboard player and has performed with numerous world-class
acts including Air Supply, Andy Gibb, Dragon, Swanee, Jon English, Ross
Ryan, Jeff St.John, Rose Tattoo, Doug Parkinson, Stevie Wright, Marc
Hunter, Troy Newman, Tania Bowra, Glenn Shorrock & Brian Cadd, Nathan
Cavaleri, James Blundell, Grace Knight & Jimmy Little.
