The Manly Arts Festival Committee
is inviting proposals from artists, cultural
organisations and potential venues interested
in running their own arts event for a highly
focussed arts program throughout Manly in September
2007.
The Manly Arts Festival is an
annual event that runs on the northern beaches
in Sydney from 6 to 23 September 2007.
Artists, musicians, performers,
arts organisations and the community are invited
to participate in the festival by running their
own events to promote and celebrate the creative
activity in the Manly area. Venues such as galleries,
cafes, restaurants and other spaces are also
invited to host and/or organise arts-related
events during the Festival. This year’s
Festival will be held across Manly from 6 -
23 September 2007 and will include:
• Visual Arts exhibitions
and events
• Music events
• Literary events
• Film events
• Workshops
• Performance events
• Youth events
• Kids events
• Special events
The Manly Arts Festival is a celebration
of the achievements, dedication and innovation
of Manly’s creative community. Local artists,
professional and amateur alike, are able to
participate by organising arts-related events
across Manly. These events are complimented
by other events each year which include the
Northern Beaches Arts Forum, 24/7 Film Festival
and Manly Wharf Youth Busking Competition.
The Manly Arts Festival is managed
by members of Manly’s creative community
on the Manly Arts Festival Committee, which
is convened by Manly Council. The Manly Arts
Festival is created by the community for the
community - a two week extravaganza of arts
events. Artists and members of the community
come together by supporting each other through
entrepreneuring and administering arts events,
attending arts events, providing venues for
artists and organisations and providing sponsorship
and in-kind support for the Manly Arts Festival.
