The Lightbulb Lounge Room in Bondi (NSW) provides a space for local artists to exhibit their creations without having to fight for a chance to be seen by other members of the artistic community.
No works are sold on the premises it is just a chance to help artists make connections. Along side this it is a graphic design studio for owner and artistic director Claire Perini.
Every month or so the LLR will have an exhibition, each artist will submit one piece that represents the brief / theme given, industry friends who are invited to exhibitions will have a chance to meet and greet, and for a months time the artists/designers details are left in the gallery for people to read up on, making connections.
Artists and designers can have the opportunity to have a solo exhibition if invited and they must have submitted a piece into a group exhibition previously in the LLR, once again this exhibition will not allow the artists to sell on the property so no commission is taken from the LLR.
Each month's brief can be found on the LLR's web page where the opening exhibition brief is outlined. As the gallery itself is in the final stages of completion the opening date is yet to be confirmed but with with current progression expected date is to be in the very near future.
You're the lightbulb, we're the socket and together the electric currents flow.
