The Linden Postcard show is an open entry award exhibition featuring small format contemporary work. The exhibition has become a prominent event in the Australian cultural calendar and attracts thousands of visitors. The Postcard Show derives its name from the tradition of selecting six works to be reproduced and sold as Linden Postcards.
Linden is one of Australia's leading and most loved centres for contemporary art. It is housed in a Victorian mansion on Acland Street, St Kilda and consists of five gallery spaces, artist's studios, a reading room, access spaces and outdoor public art works. Linden currently exhibits the work of over 1,000 artists and attracts nearly 40,000 visitors each year.
For 20 years Linden has played a pivotal role in supporting young and emerging artists and promoting new and innovative art practices. It has gained a high national profile through its exhibition, event and education programs.
