The Richmond Valley Short Film Festival is calling for all filmmakers, from the budding Lurhmanns, to first timers, to enter short films in a new festival and competition to be held over Easter 2008.
Filmmakers countrywide will have the chance to enter their films into one of four categories, including; documentaries, drama, comedy and children’s. Films must run no longer than 15 minutes (including titles and credits) and have never been classified for sale, rental or public screenings.
The festival hopes to provide filmmakers young and old with a chance to gain public recognition and encourage the support of the art of filmmaking nationally. Films will be screened at two locations within the Richmond Valley; Evans Head and Casino. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each category and the best films will be selected to be included onto a compilation DVD which will be classified for sale & rental by the Office of Film & Literature Classification.
