Fiona Kennedy Altoft
Painter (Helensvale, QLD)
Fiona’s works are often a reflection
of her understanding of her personal experiences: Being raised in Roma,
Southwest Queensland;
living on the Gold Coast; travelling extensively and having children.
Elements of all of these experiences have influenced her varied subject
matter and styles.
Fiona has continually evolved her art works with a progression of
subject matter and her diverse use of materials and processes are proof
of this. She is constantly experimenting and exploring with new techniques
and different mediums. This could be related to her profession as an
Art teacher. Fiona completed a Bachelor of Arts-Visual Arts at the
Queensland University of Technology and a Graduate Diploma of Education
in 1993.
Her energy and the thrill of achieving something new in her paintings
gives her the ultimate natural high. This energy creates wonderful
movement of line and shapes, whilst using bold colours with multiple
layers entice the viewer to look closely at her current concepts and
techniques.
Fiona is available for commissioned artworks and is interested
in connecting with galleries looking for new artists to represent.
