Judith Graham
Painter (Clontarf, NSW)
Judith Graham is a visual artist
with a background in photography as well as painting. Her inspiration
comes from a
life of living abroad and an eye
for the beauty and strange in ordinary scenes of everyday life.
Working exclusively in oils since the Paris period, she
uses vibrant colours and has developed a style reflective of the eclectic
and slightly
bizarre world around her.
Perspective is given a healthy dose of peripheral vision
while subjects sometimes inhabit a safe place, just this side of reality.
Judith taught art at at high schools in Sydney before
departing overseas where she opened studios in each of
the countries
she lived in. Westport, Co Mayo Ireland. Henley on Thames,
England. Denfert Rochereau, Paris, France. Brussels, Belgium. Fort
Lauderdale, Florida. USA. Now in Seaforth, Sydney. Australia.
Artists Statement:
Inspiration comes to me through "the strange in the familiar" in
the local life around my studio. Richness of life abounds in the least expected
places.
