Leni Kae
Painter (Kogarah, NSW)
The child of a master mathematician, Leni Kae (dip Colour Therapy) naturally discovered the unbreakable link between art and science. The Australian artist and trained colour therapist integrates an unmistakable eye for design with colour psychology to produce works with powerful subconscious and sensual triggers. The powerful effects of color, which can enhance and alter moods, trigger hormonal reactions, and awaken dormant memories, are vital to a dually artistic and scientific mission; although each painting is a visually beautiful, it is also a continuing experiment in color science, constantly interacting with new viewers, liberating emotions, eliciting positive memories, and inviting self evaluation.
Underpinning each work is a wholesome desire to remind the audience of the universal bond we carry as human beings - emotion and memory: "There is a beauty that comes from the spirit of ‘unity’, the idea that although we exist as individuals, we are inherently bound by uniting qualities such as human emotion, experience, and dreams." Leni Kae, 2009
Leni Kae was recently a finalist in London International Creative Competition (LICC), and also in UK's Aesthetica Magazine 50th Annual Works Competition 2008. Kae’s donation of an artwork to the Canteen Fundraising Auction at the Art Gallery NSW raised over $4000 for the charity. Her most recent international exhibition in New York is to be followed with two exhibitions in her home country; and Leni will also be showcasing her talent in Florence later this year, where she will be representing Australia in the upcoming Florence Biennale 09 in December.
